10TH ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST SPACE STATION ELEMENT LAUNCH Print

On Nov. 20, 1998, Zarya, the first module of the International Space Station was launched. Since then, the vehicle has grown immensely in size and capability. More than 150 explorers have visited the orbiting complex and a wide range of experiments have been conducted. The station is a partnership of the five space agencies of Canada, Europe, Japan, Russia and the United States.
