The crew that will launch aboard space shuttle Atlantis on the final space shuttle mission, STS-135, participated in a crew equipment interface test (CEIT), May 2 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. During the test at Kennedy’s Space Station Processing Facility, the astronauts inspected mission hardware and flight equipment that they will use in orbit. Atlantis will carry the multi-purpose logistics module, Raffaello, filled with a variety of spare parts and supplies to the station. Also travelling aboard Atlantis on a lightweight multipurpose experiment support structure carrier is a system known as the Robotic Refueling Mission, which will investigate the potential for robotically refueling existing spacecraft in orbit. The STS-135 mission is targeted for launch on June 28.
