Expedition 1 Docking - 11th Anniversary Print

11 years ago today, on Nov. 2, 2000, Commander Bill Shepherd, and Flight Engineers Sergei Krikalev and Yuri Gidzenko guided the Soyuz TM-31 spacecraft to a docking on the aft port of the Zvezda Service Module of the fledgling International Space Station at 5:21 a.m. Eastern. That docking began the uninterrupted human presence aboard the orbital laboratory.
